The owners hired Duncan Architect to make their brownstone more comfortable, healthy, and energy-efficient for their young family and for future tenants of a garden apartment. We completely renovated the interior and restored the exterior, replacing the deteriorated windows with high-performance, historically appropriate ones, including a new custom two-story bay window. We excavated and underpinned the cellar to create a warm, dry space with high ceilings, and built a garden-level rear addition.
